Wednesday’s Meeting

Dear Writers,
We had a most productive meeting Wednesday evening and wish that each of you could have been there.  Listed are the items accomplished.
1.)   We decided to meet at Panara’s in June just for a change and for fun.
2.)   We prayed for each signed up writer individually with a star to indicate those writers who are working on a project.  (The prayer discussion revealed 16 projects in progress.)  Each of you were prayed for by name.  Our prayer was that you will know how you can put your writing in its place.
3.)  We exchanged information and loaned writer’s books.
4.)  We, as a group, helped one of our writers summarize her new book into one sentence.   A one sentence summary of one’s book is requested as a part of a proposal for an editor.
5.)  We divided into partners to exchange manuscripts for reading and critique.
The last set of partners left about 8:45.  All in all a good night!

Hello World,

This is history in the making. Jodi has set up the very first blog for the First Baptist Church, McKinney, Texas, Christian Writers.

Since our beginning in January of 2007, we have had 10 official publications from our writers. Some of us write in a Christian way for the secular presses, some write for Christian publications, but our goal is always to fullfill the Mission Statement our church has accepted from us.

Please consider its worth:  “We, the writers in the Christian writers’ group, realize the power and far reaching effect of the written word. Our goal is to motivate new and existing writers to use actively their spiritual gifts of writing. We pray earnestly that the Father will use our works to proclaim His love far beyond the scope of our ideas wherever our words may go. —Christian Writers’ Group, FBC McKinney.”

Thank you, Jodi, for this fine blog and welcome all who will use it!
